Instructions for Authors of Journal of Tropical Biology

1. Manuscript Submission Requirements  

1.1 Please submit your manuscript through the journal's editorial system (https://rdswxb.hainanu.edu.cn/). Authors are required to register and follow the submission instructions. Manuscripts should be formatted in Word, using size 5 Songti font and A4 paper size. The recommended length is 4,000–6,000 words (including abstracts, main text, figures, tables, and references), with review articles up to 8,000 words. For manuscripts involving biological experiments, original experimental photographs must be submitted as compressed attachments to the editorial platform. Only essential figures and tables should be included, with a general limit of six figures. Photos must be clear, labeled with numbers, scaling instructions, and insertion positions. Vector formats (e.g., EMF, WMF, EPS, PDF, AI, CDR, OPJ, VSDX, FIG) are preferred. Source files from software such as Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, CorelDRAW, Origin, or MATLAB can also be submitted. Abstracts should follow the structured abstract format. Figure and table titles (and notes) must be provided in both Chinese and English.

1.2 Manuscripts must possess scientific rigor, innovation, academic value, practicality, and compliance with standards. The content should be clear, well-supported, data-accurate, logically structured, and linguistically coherent, adhering to China's copyright laws and ensuring the protection of national secrets.  

1.3 References should be listed at the end of the manuscript. Unpublished literature should not be cited. The reference format should comply with GB/T 7714—2015.  

2. Responsibility and Originality

2.1 Authors are responsible for the content of their submissions. Multiple submissions of the same manuscript and plagiarism are strictly prohibited. If no response is received within two months of submission, authors may submit their manuscript to another journal. Unaccepted manuscripts will not be returned; authors are advised to retain copies.  

3. Database Inclusion

3.1 This journal is indexed in multiple databases, including China Journal Net, China Academic Journal (CD Edition), China Academic Journal Comprehensive Evaluation Database, Wanfang Data Resource System, Chinese Science and Technology Journal Database, China Journal Full-text Database, Boxin Journal Database, SuperStar Journal Database, Changjiang Library, and the Ulrichsweb database. Authors who do not wish their work to be included in these databases should specify this in their submission.  

3.2 This journal is published by Beijing Wanfang Data Co., Ltd. and distributed through the Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform. Copyright fees are paid alongside manuscript fees. Authors with objections should indicate this in their submission, and appropriate arrangements will be made.
